REQUEST: Resolution authorizing County (via R & D) to enter into agreement and a no-cost one year extension with the University of Hawaii, to provide funding for its Energy Science Program Planning and Resource Assesment at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The County entered into an agreement with the Office of Research Services authorized to sign contracts on behalf of the University of Hawaii at Hilo on June 23,. 2015. The amended term of the Energy Science contract will end on June 30, 2019. The Energy Science Program Planning and Resource Assessment at the University of Hawaii at Hilo will allow the University of Hawaii to develop an undergraduate educational program in energy science with a significant practical component.
