To whom it may concern,
We are a low income, struggling family, who operate a small homestead in
rural Ka'u, zoned ag.
A good portion of our income, and our financial survival has become
dependent on renting out our small hale to vacationers who are visiting
the south side of the island.
The proposals listed in bill 108 stand to severely disrupt what little
income our ohana is able to produce. Our ability to offer short term
vacation rental is a vital part of our livelihood.
There are no hotels in our area, so what options are you leaving for
vacationers who wish to visit and stay over night at the south point?
Please do not over regulate. There are many struggling families who
depend on short-term vacation rental businesses, not just wealthy
investors.
We have the right to host a bed and breakfast out of our farm to survive.
