Dear members of the Committee on Planning,
Mahalo for the opportunity to be heard. We are a couple in our mid 70's. We love living on
Hawaii Island. Our only income is Social Security and Airbnb. If we didn't have Airbnb
guests, we couldn't afford to live here. We have had the honor of hosting, guests from all over
the world. Most of our guests are in their 20's and 30's. They are wonderful, respectful, sweet,
educated young people and it's almost like having our grandchildren visit. There are six home
on our lane and three have Airbnb guest room rentals. We NEVER have unpleasant
interactions and are grateful for every single person we meet.
