Dear members of the Committee on Planning,
Gentlemen:
In an effort to financially survive while living in Paradise, Hawaii, many of us senior citizens
share our homes, or an empty bedroom with someone who can help us pay our high property
taxes, high electric bills, and high excise tax bills. It seems that the State and County of
Hawaii constantly wants more money from us but we seem to receive little in return. Look at
the condition of our streets and roads, the flooding and drainage problems that the state and
county seem powerless to resolve and yet the local government demands more and more from
those of use who have limited incomes!
Further taxation of those of us who rely on the rental income from our homes is unfair and
unreasonable!
