I live on the mainland and have wonderful on -island help. I provide good income for them and also provide the state with lots of tax money with the ge and ta, and higher property taxes. I am not exactly sure what this bill will do, but I do know that there are LOTS of rooms and homes rented out on airbnb that are not legal vacation rentals. The state of Hawaii needs to address the laws they have in place before making new laws. I could go through airbnb and find the illegal rentals pretty easily. By law, we are supposed to post are tax license number. I don't see very many homeowners that do this.
