Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 136, reports as follows:
Bill No. 136, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 887 dated
April 6, 2018, amends Ordinance No. 17-39, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018.
This bill increases revenues in the Transfer from General Fund account ($4,800); and
appropriates the same to the Highway Maintenance Administration-Other Current Expenses
account. Funds would be used by the Department of Public Works for the annual rental of a
portable toilet to be located at Banyan Beach in Kona.
Council Member Dru Mamo Kanuho commented that this is the accompanying bill to the resolution
appropriating contingency money for the portable toilets at Banyan Beach. Mr. Kanuha thanked the
Public Works department for working on getting the portable toilets for the public health reasons.
There was no further discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill 136, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
