No. 889/Bill 137 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:35 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 137, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 137, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 889 dated <br /> April 6, 2018, amends Ordinance No. 17-39, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of <br /> Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018. <br /> This bill increases revenues in the Coordinated Services account (425,000); and appropriates the <br /> same to the Coordinated Services-Other Current Expenses account, for a total appropriation of <br /> $160,000. Funds would be used by the Department of parks and Recreation to provide <br /> additional service to participants. <br /> Coran Kitaoka, Elderly Activities Operations Assistant Director,,Department of Parks and Recreation, <br /> explained the purpose of the bill is to expand direct services to kupuna. Mr. Kitaoka stated that the <br /> department is looking at expanding more services to the Captain Cook and Miloli`i areas in the <br /> components of transportation and outreach.
