Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:

It is my pleasure to nominate Allen Salavea of Council District 6 to the Liquor
Commission. Mr. Salavea is currently employed as the Kamehameha Schools Land
Use and Entitlement Manager. Prior to his employment with the Kamehameha
Schools, Mr. Salavea worked as a Planner with the County of Hawai'i's Planning
Department for approximately 4 years.
Mr. Salavea holds a BA in Geography and a Certificate in Environmental Planning from
the University of Hawai'i at Hilo and served six years in the US Air Force where he was
honorably discharged.
Mr. Salavea has lived in Hawai'i for approximately 25 years and states he is not
affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term ending December 31,
2022.
