It is my pleasure to nominate Kean T Umeda of Council District 2 to the Game
Management Advisory Commission.
Mr. Umeda worked as an Assistant Golf Pro at the Mauna Lani Resort between 2000
and 2013 and has since been a self-employed gunsmith. He is a graduate of Hilo High
School and attended the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
As an air rifle coach for Waiakea and Hilo High Schools, Mr. Umeda has an interest to
"preserve hunting for future generations".
Mr. Umeda is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. He is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will serve a term to expire December 31, 2022.
