RESOLUTION NO. 612
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FURNITURE
FOR THE OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Hapuna Prince Hotel is donating an furniture as indicated
in Exhibit A with a total value estimated at $6,180 to the Office of Housing and
Community Development; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used for the transitional units and the
community center at Ulu Wini; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations
of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in
real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County
Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property
which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may
be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development
recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the
Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to West Point Investments aka Hapuna Prince Hotel, 62-100
Kauna`oa Drive, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Office of
Housing and Community Development, and the Finance Department.
