Re: Resolution to accept a donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of furniture from West Point Investments
aka Hapuna Prince Hotel, 62-100 Kauna`oa Drive, Kamuela, Hawai`i 96743. This
furniture will be used for the transitional units and community center at Ulu Wini.
The Office of Housing and Community Development requests that this resolution be
waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the May 21, 2018 Council agenda
in order to expedite the donation of these furnishings. If there are any questions, please
do not hesitate to call Neil Gyotoku, Housing Administrator at 961-8379.

Ulu Wini (The Homes of Ulu Wini) Housing project from Hapuna Prince Hotel and send a letter of

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The used furniture donation is offered by Hapuna Prince Hotel to the Na Kahua Hale 0 Ulu Wini (The Homes
of Ulu Wini) housing project, which falls under the Office of Housing & Community Development Division.
The used furniture will be used to furnish the transitional units and the community center.

RE: Resolution No. 612-18 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE
OF FURNITURE FOR THE OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i,this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
