These programs provide children with experiences in Hawaiian cultural practices of ancient Hawaiian wayfinding through STEM learning tools and techniques. Enclosed is a resolution to accept these funds. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this.$7,600. The Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting that this resolution and bill be waived from Finance Committee and be placed on the May 21, 2018 Council agenda to expedite the receipt of these funds during the current fiscal year. REQUEST: Requesting a bill for an ordinance to create a revenue and expenditure account in Recreation Division's budget entitled "Youth Development - LT Contrib" in the amount of$7,600 as well as accept private contributions from Thomas K. Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
