REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS AND RECREATION DATE: May 8, 2018 Re: Comm. No. 881/Res.No. 588-18 PLACE: Council Chambers Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i TIME: 11:02 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation,to which was referred Res. No. 588-18, reports as follows: Resolution No. 588-18, transmitted by Deputy Corporation Counsel Ronald Kim,via Communication 881 dated April 4, 2018, is a resolution accepting the dedication of Road Lot 10-B, identified as Tax Map Key (3) 7-5-020:083, situated at Puapua'a 1, District of North Kona, Island and County of Hawai`i, State of Hawai`i from the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., a Hawai`i non-profit company. The Kanuha Foundation is desirous of dedicating the above roadway and all improvements thereon to the County of Hawai`i for roadway purposes, and the roadway and improvements have been inspected and approved by the Department of Public Works, and received dedication approval from the Department of Water Supply, the Planning Department and the Department of Environmental Management. Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter provides that the Council may accept gifts, including real estate or any interest in real estate, on behalf of the County of Hawai`i: There was no public testimony nor committee discussion of this resolution.
