• <br /> J�4Y 06 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> OF <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 617 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES <br /> EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SLATE OF OFFICERS,AND APPROVING THE <br /> NOMINATION OF MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES <br /> BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF <br /> DIRECTORS. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i County is a member of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties <br /> (HSAC), the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Western Interstate Region <br /> (WIR); and <br /> WHEREAS,the HSAC Executive Committee on May 7, 2018, approved a slate of <br /> executive committee members and nominees for the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR <br /> Board of Directors for the respective terms beginning July 1, 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the HSAC Bylaws, prior to the HSAC annual meeting <br /> in June 2018, "each council after receipt of the slate shall take action deemed necessary to <br /> approve the slate at the annual meeting; provided that no council shall take any action requesting <br /> or requiring removal from the slate of an appointee from another council"; and <br /> WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that Council approval is required to approve <br /> nomination of representatives to the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors; <br /> now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> Hawai`i State Association of Counties Executive Committee members and alternates are <br /> approved as follows for the term beginning July 1, 2018: <br /> President: Dru Kanuha; alternate Valerie T. Poindexter <br /> Vice President: Derek S.K. Kawakami; alternate Ross Kagawa <br /> Secretary: Stacy Crivello; alternate Riki Hokama <br /> Treasurer: Ikaika Anderson; alternate Joey Manahan <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Arryl Kaneshiro and Ikaika Anderson are <br /> approved to serve on the NACo Board of Directors for the term beginning July 1, 2018. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mike White and Mason Chock are approved to <br /> serve on the Western Interstate Region Board of Directors for the term beginning July 1, 2018. <br />
