Additional funding is being provided by the State to fund the costs of salary increases. The Department of Finance Vehicle Registration& Licensing division requests that this appropriation be increased by an additional $15,563.90. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these additional funds into the Finance Department's Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Program OCE account bringing the total appropriation to $345,545.90. We are requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the June 5, 2018 Council agenda and that the Council waive their five-day hold-for-reconsideration period in order to ensure this bill'be processed during the current fiscal year. Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action.
