TESTIMONY IN SUPPORT
Chair O'hara, Vice Chair Richards, .and members of the committee on Env.ironmental' Management,
I strongly support .County of Hawaii Bill Na. 154 --relating to. removing abandoned vehicles arid. clarifyiilg
that the abandoned vehicles laws would apply to "private roads that are, located within any ungated
subdivision; where roads are °o.pen to and used by members -of the public"`.
Hawaiian Ocean View Estates is once such subdivision that 'is in my state representative district as .are
several others.
The abandoned vehicles -are an attractive nuisance and a public health and safety issue.
Children playing or pets could be locked inside and die from heat; fires could ':be set,. fluids could :leak,,
accidents could be caused.
Please passthis very- important bill.
