'427 . 18 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF <br /> RESPIRATOR MASKS AND CARTRIDGES FOR USE BY THE <br /> HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Queens Medical Center in Honolulu is donating fifty (50) <br /> medium and fifty (50) large respirator half facepiece masks, ten (10) medium and <br /> ten (10) large respirator full facepiece masks and three-hundred (300) respirator <br /> cartridges to the Hawaii Police Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by Police Officers who are <br /> assigned posts in the area of the active lava zone in Lower Puna; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations <br /> of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br /> real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br /> which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br /> be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Department recommends the acceptance <br /> of this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the <br /> Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
