RESOLUTION NO. '427 . 18
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
RESPIRATOR MASKS AND CARTRIDGES FOR USE BY THE
HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Queens Medical Center in Honolulu is donating fifty (50)
medium and fifty (50) large respirator half facepiece masks, ten (10) medium and
ten (10) large respirator full facepiece masks and three-hundred (300) respirator
cartridges to the Hawaii Police Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by Police Officers who are
assigned posts in the area of the active lava zone in Lower Puna; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations
of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in
real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County
Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property
which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may
be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Department recommends the acceptance
of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the
Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent Queens Medical Center, 1301 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu,
Hawaii 96813.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Police
Department, and the Finance Department.
