Please leave it up to supporters and detractors to do research on impacts of charter
amendments.
A lot of Finance Department time might be needed to do a fiscal impact statement for one or
more charter amendments.
Also, if the County researches only fiscal impacts, and no other impacts (health, social,
environmental), we don't get the whole picture.
A fiscal impact statement might make the 2% land fund look bad. But the fund gives us
natural beauty;; places to play, explore, and refresh our spirits; protection of cultural and
historic resources; and higher property values. As the credit card ad says: priceless.
