RE: BILL 93 REGARDING MINIMUM TAX INCREASE FROM 57 TO 5100
Properties within the Kilauea lava disaster area should be i until the
eruption stops and remains stable for a period of Six (6) months.
The County of Hawaii is not providing any services to properties within the
Kilauea lava disaster area.
The parcels affected would be a small percentage of the more than 49,000
parcels qualifying for the minimum tax.
Civil Defense has denied legal access to these properties until the eruption
stops and remains stable for a period of six (6) months.
The owners of these properties have suffered enough.
Please include this exemption in the amendment of Chapter 19, Article 11,
Section 19-90, Hawaii County Code.
Sincerely
~~2 i/ r~
