STATE OF HAWAII <br /> f�TE'OFH'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 63 18 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br /> INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE HAWAII CRIMINAL JUSTICE DATA <br /> CENTER, STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY <br /> GENERAL, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FORA GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br /> COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department wishes for the County to <br /> enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Hawaii Criminal Justice <br /> Data Center, State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General (HCJDC) and the <br /> County of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, the HCJDC has authorized funds to be provided to the Hawaii <br /> County Police Department to purchase equipment that will allow police officers to have <br /> access to state-wide offender information and to transition to a standardized bar code <br /> system to track evidence; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br /> or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br /> granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br /> accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of <br /> Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related <br /> documents with the HCJDC to enable the County to receive funds as specified above. <br />
