At the moment our entire island is suffering from lack of tourism from the real and perceived threat of the Kilauea Volcano. In Puna, we are all financially devastated and many of us our losing our homes. You need to put that AirBnb bill to rest and try to figure out ways to make some revenue for the County of Hawaii that you aren't going to be getting from real property tax revenue in Puna. As I write, my family home is in the line of the fire avalanche and could be taken tonight or tomorrow. Most of the AirBnbs in lower Puna are in that same line of fire. Any remaining will hopefully host some tourists that we really need to spend some money and help us pay all of our debts and taxes. If the tourists won't come, the spaces are being rented to evacuees. You may be seeing another vantage point about this bill right now. If you are, you should stop what it is you are doing and come serve a hot meal in Pahoa. Our gym is filled with hundreds of people. Our baseball and soccer fields are encampments for the new homeless from all over Puna. Our entire community is upside down. Please focus on doing what you need to do to keep the County of Hawaii humming. Poking at AirBnb is just totally senseless at this juncture. Thanks for reading and thinking really long and hard about what you are doing. Aloha, Tiffany Comm. MYC-- " r `'s s 9 Date r Comm. MYC-- " r `'s s 9 Date
