Dear Committee on Planning Hawaii County,
In 2017, we purchased a home in Pahoa with hopes of a new beginning. Later last year we
found out our one-year old daughter Ruby had a blood disorder. Our plans to move changed
and we now financially rely on the income from our Airbnb rentals at the property. We are
hard working, kind hearted folks who will be devastated if this bill passes. Not only might we
lose the house, but it might ruin our dreams of making it to Hawaii, which is where our heart
is. Please have consideration for current home owners. Although we might be residents, many
of us care about how our short term rentals affect our neighbors and in my experience I have
had nothing but positive experiences with my guests at our Hawaii home. Please deeply
consider how this bill affects orhers in my position. Mahalo.
