We have been residents of Kona Heights for 40 years. We raised our children and made lasting
friendships. This is a good school district so it was family friendly.
In the last few years there have been a number of vacation rentals including one across the street from
us. It has been a terrible experience with late night noise, litter and strangers in our driveway. A few of
us neighbors have contacted the owners who live in California. They pretty much don't care about the
disturbance. It has been an observation that the rentals who have owners or local contact care about
complaints and try to address them. Please try to make it harder for absentee owners to have a permit.
And it would be so considerate to local families that work here to have more long term rentals available.
Thank you for addressing this situation and trying to protect our neighborhoods.
