To Whom it May Concern,
Vacation rentals are a vital cottage industry in our Big Island community and provide an
important revenue stream for our already fragile economy. Having a vacation rental unit has
allowed our family to keep a property that would have otherwise been unsustainable. We have
many friends and associates who are employed as cleaners, gardeners, handymen and other
full time occupations servicing vacation rentals.
I recognize that regulation is some form is necessary, however, this should be done with care
and recognition that our economy does not need another big hit, especially in this moment of
