Dear Committee on Planning Hawaii County,
I recently started sharing my Ka'u home on AirB&B with random strangers from around the
world. This has been a most gratifying experience, in several ways. First, it is helping me keep
my Hawai'i dream home. Second, I meet interesting people. Third, it is adding to the coffers of
the State via GET and TAT. Fourth, it brings tourists to businesses in Ocean View, where I
live, and fifth, I get to teach people about HawaiTs dryland forests, one of my passions. This is
NOT a rental unit that has been taken off the market, I am sharing my sewing and weaving
studio. My neighbors don't mind. Please do not make it so hard to continue offering this
service in an underserved community by creating onerous rules regarding the sharing of my
home. Thankyou for your consideration.
