No. 633-18 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 2:53 p.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 633-18,reports as follows: Resolution No. 633-18, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 970 dated June 21, 2018, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into a license easement agreement with the State of Hawai`i, Department of Hawaiian Homelands, pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes 46-7, for the County of Hawaii to accept a license easement for a portion of"Mana Place" over and through the property identified as Tax Map Key 6-4-004:057. This license easement agreement provides the public a clear right to traverse over the portions of the subject property to access residential properties while also allowing for the County's maintenance of this portion of Mana Place. Council Member Herbert M. "Tim" Richards, III expressed his wholehearted support of this project. Mr. Richards noted that the process to provide access has been ongoing for years and has taken"stutter" steps to complete the necessary paperwork. Approval of this resolution will address the public's right to access residential parcels as well as allow the County to maintain a portion of Mana Place. There was no discussion on this measure.
