POINDEXTER 45 <br /> AND MEMBERS OF THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL in <br /> HAWAI'I COUNTY COUNCIL 'c <br /> H I LO HI 96720 <br /> SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT: <br /> HAUOLA ROAD/POHAKEA ROAD — NEW STOP INTERSECTION <br /> We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 2 (Moving <br /> Vehicles), Section 24-264, Schedule 12 (Stop intersections), paragraph (a) Hamakua be <br /> amended by adding new item: <br /> "HAUOLA ROAD, POHAKEA ROAD INTERSECTION, ALL APPROACHES." <br /> The intent of this amendment is to address a concern that motorists traveling southwest <br /> (mauka) on Pohakea Road have difficulty seeing to the left and exiting at the Hauola <br /> Road intersection. This problem is caused by cars parking too close to the intersection <br /> and loading/unloading activities by an area business.
