It is my pleasure to nominate Springer Kaye of Honomu to the Board of Appeals.
Ms. Kaye is an active community member and passionate about protecting our land and
natural resources for future generations. She previous worked as a planner and later
became Manager of the Big Island Invasive Species Committee.
Ms. Kaye generously volunteers her time to community service and is the current
President of the Honomu Community Association, Chair of the Hawaii Chapter of the
National Women's Political Caucus, and an Advisor to the Mauna Kea Environment
•
Committee.
A graduate of Punahou School, Ms. Kaye holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental
Science from Pomona College and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from
University of Hawai'i at Hilo.
Ms. Kaye is a 15 year resident of Hawai'i Island and a member of the Democratic party.
If confirmed, she will serve a vacant term to expire December 31, 2022.
