RESOLUTION NO. .648 IS
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY
DONATION OF $542 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION
WHEREAS, Polynesian Adventure Tours, LLC is donating $542 to the
Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo &
Gardens; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, mayaccept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
Resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Department of Finance has requested that
cash donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal
Resolution process; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Kris Kindschuh, Polynesian Adventure Tours, LLC, 888
Kalaniana`ole Avenue, Unit C, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, and that a copy of this resolution
be sent to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance and

the Office of the Mayor to acknowledge this generous donation.
