'/=• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 6.58 18. <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL FOR THE 6TH <br /> ANNUAL HAWAII ISLAND ALL NATIONS POWWOW. <br /> WHEREAS,the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council <br /> (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the economic, cultural, and natural <br /> environment of Hawai`i Island through sponsorship of festivals, programs, and special events <br /> unique to this island; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is coordinating the 6th Annual Hawai`i Island All Nations <br /> Powwow, which will be held on September 15 and 16, 2018, with the theme"Honor the Earth"; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is requesting funds as a reimbursement for radio ads, food booths, <br /> and facility rental for the 6th Annual Hawai`i Island All Nations Powwow event; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports efforts to increase <br /> the knowledge and understanding of other cultures as well as the economic contribution of the <br /> visitor industry to Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource Conservation and <br /> Development Council for the 6th Annual Hawai`i Island All Nations Powwow. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
