To whom it may concern,
You will hear comments at the county council meeting this coming Tuesday regarding the uncertain future of Hilo's
only sailing club,Na Hoa Holomoku. You will hear how our youth benefit from the activity,skills and knowledge
gained,how adults benefit from the club's friendly races held each week,how families benefit from the time spent
together in healthy,happy activity. And while you consider these and other benefits consider,too,how on the other
side of the equation there is no risk whatsoever. In fact,the only way to not win,would be if you,our elected
representatives,denied NHH the continued use of the Hilo Bay shoreline. Please,support this low-cost,educational,
recreational,and all-around beneficial activity. In doing so you will help,not only the Hilo community,but the
entire Hawaii Island community. I trust you will do the right thing and grant Na Hoa Holomoku a Memorandum of
Understanding which will allow us to continue to use the beach.
