Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members: '
It is my pleasure to nominate George Donev of Council District 9 to the Game
Management Advisory Commission (GMAC). Mr. Donev is a first year college;student
at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo where he will study mathematics and computer
science. He states he is interested in becoming a GMAC commissioner as he would
like to-bring `°a balanced perspective to the topics of subsistence hunting while ensuring
the Commission 'addresses the needs of the community in regards to its mission".
Mr. Donev is a graduate of the Hawai'i Preparatory Academy where he graduated with
honors in 2017 and subsequently worked as an astrophysics intern with Canada-
France-Hawai'i Telescope in Waimea. He is an active member of his community and
has volunteered with the Waimea Community Park, Kohala Watershed Partnership
doing rainforest restoration, Hawai'i Ocean Film Festival, and many more.
Mr. Donev was born in Los Angeles, raised in Bulgaria, and has lived in Hawai'i for the
past 6 years. He is not a member of any political party.
