Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed,is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating $4,063 of
State funds into the Office of Housing and Community Development's Workforce Innovation
Opportunity Act (WIOA) —Sector Partnership Engagements account. This appropriation reflects
funding allocations anticipated from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations in the
current fiscal year. The bill sets up the proper accounts to receive and expend the WIOA funds.
The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) indicates that these funds will be
utilized to provide funding for Sector Partnership Engagement to identify businesses' employment
and training needs.
The OHCD requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the
August 22, 2018 Council Agenda in order to expedite the OHCD's ability to utilize the funds. If
there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Neil Gyotoku, Office of Housing and
Community Development Administrator at 961-8379.
