This agreement is to receive $225,000 of federally-derived funds to be used <br /> to update the volcanic risk and vulnerability assessment of the Hawaii County Multi- <br /> Hazard Mitigation Plan. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating <br /> Budget to appropriate these funds. <br /> Due to the urgent need to utilize these funds, the Department of Research and <br /> Development requests that a breach be authorized to submit this resolution and bill after <br /> the August 3, 2018 submission deadline, and to waive it from the Finance Committee in <br /> order to be placed on the August 22, 2018 Council agenda. They also request that the <br /> five-day hold for reconsideration period be waived in order to further expedite this <br /> resolution and bill.
