No. 1026/Bill No. 179 PLACE: Council Chambers Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i TIME: 9:34 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 179, reports as follows: Bill No. 179, transmitted by Managing Director Wil Okabe, via Communication No. 1026, dated August 1, 2018, amends Ordinance No. 08-20, which reclassified lands from Single Family Residential— 10,000 square feet(RS-10) to Neighborhood Commercial— 10,000 square feet (CN- 10) at Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawai`i, covered by Tax Map Keys: 2-2-036:025 and 026 (Applicant: Dien-Jung Lin(formerly Dian-Jung Nekoba) (Area: 39,771 square feet). Managing Director Wil Okabe forwarded the Windward Planning Commission's favorable recommendation for this amendment to request a time extension for completion of construction and payment of the water commitment fee. The properties are located on Kekuando`a Street and Hinano Street. Susan Tita came forward to represent the applicant, and Jeff Darrow from the Planning Department was present to answer questions. Ms. Tita explained that the applicant is in need of this time extension due to health reasons and is now prepared to move forward. She also said that the applicant has her financing and planning in order. The vote was then taken on the motion to move this measure to Council with a positive recommendation and passed with seven"ayes."
