RESOLUTION NO. 674 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
FUTURE FOR THE 2018 HAWAII ISLAND WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP SUMMIT.
WHEREAS,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney oversees the Committee on the
Status of Women, which seeks to advance and celebrate the value of women in our society by
cultivating relationships, networking, and developing leaders locally; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions
harmony and balance among the diverse people of Hawai`i and encourages individuals to strive
to enrich their communities through shared visions and multi-cultural values; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future will partner with the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney to support the 2018 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit that will be held on
October 19, 2018, at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is requesting funds to purchase materials, flyers, and
advertising for the 2018 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future for the 2018 Hawai`i Island
Women's Leadership Summit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
