COUNTY OF HAWAII - k-_,' ! ; '' / .'• STATE OF HAWAII 4yEGF•N_., RESOLUTION NO. 76 18 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE FUTURE FOR THE 2018 HAWAII ISLAND WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP SUMMIT. WHEREAS,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney oversees the Committee on the Status of Women, and one of the goals of this Committee is to promote women's participation in public and private sectors; and WHEREAS,Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to facilitate a vision of lokahi (harmony and balance) among the diverse peoples of Hawai`i and encourage individuals to contribute their deepest values, to create shared visions, and to continuously improve our communities; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Future, in partnership with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, supports the 2018 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit and the advancement of women through knowledge, strength, and community; and WHEREAS,the 2018 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit will be held on October 19, 2018, at the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay, and the purpose is to strengthen women by providing real tools for real life, thereby empowering and advancing themselves,their relationships, their careers, and their community; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is requesting funds for expenses related to the planning and implementation of the 2018 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit, including but not limited to event advertising and printing of brochures and other event-related materials; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future for expenses related to planning and implementation of the 2018 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
