Additional federally-derived funds in the amount of$40,000 is being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Safety Program to be used to purchase mobile data terminal Toughbook computers. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police Department's HCPD Data Grant account, bringing the total appropriation to $56,520. The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the October 3, 2018 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
