Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 1057, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 1057,transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated August 29, 2018, nominates
Mr. Chris Cackley to the Hawai`i County North Kohala Community Development Plan Action
Committee.
Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Mr. Cackley who appeared
in person. Ms. Bautista said that Mr. Cackley has lived in Hawai`i for approximately 33 years.
If confirmed, Mr. Cackley will serve a term ending September 30, 2021.
Several Council Members commented in favor of Mr. Cackley. The vote was then taken with
seven Council Members voting"aye." Chair Eoff stated that Mr. Cackley did not need to appear
at the Council meeting on October 3, 2018, for confirmation of his appointment.
Article 3, Section 16-5 of the Hawai`i CountyCode, the CommunityDevelopment
Pursuant to p
Plan Action Committees shall consist of nine members, and shall be appointed by the Mayor and
approved by the Council.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 1057, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Chris Cackley to the Hawaii
County North Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee.
