COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAI `I RESOLUTION NO. 713 Is A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ISLAND CULTURAL AWARENESS PROJECT FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED FROM THE 25th ANNUAL KWXX HO`OLAULE`A. WHEREAS, the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a, a live -music block party with numerous stages, is a drug- and alcohol -free, family -friendly event that is hosted by local radio station KWXX FM; and WHEREAS, the 25th Annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a was held in Downtown Hilo on September 29, 2018, and was free to the public; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Cultural Awareness Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes charitable and educational events to create awareness through cultural media to serve the people and visitors of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Cultural Awareness Project assisted with logistics for the 25th Annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a and is requesting funds for the reimbursement of expenses related to traffic control and informational and medical signage at the event; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports community events that comply with liquor laws and public safety; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawaii Island Cultural Awareness Project for a reimbursement of expenses incurred from the 251h Annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
