COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 615 18 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2018 HAWAII ISLAND VETERANS DAY PARADE. WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the economic, cultural, and natural environment of Hawaii Island through sponsorship of festivals, programs, and special events unique to this island; and WHEREAS, BIRCDC is working in partnership with the Hawaii Island Veterans Day Parade Committee to honor all veterans in Hawaii County by assisting with the coordination of the 2018 Hawaii Island Veterans Day Parade in Hilo on November 10, 2018; and WHEREAS, BIRCDC is requesting funding assistance to help cover necessary expenses, including, but not limited to, special duty police officers, insurance, portable toilets, tents, public address system, transportation, and permits; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports this event as it is in keeping with the goal and objectives of the department to promote safe and healthy community activities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief fields from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council to assist with expenses related to the 2018 Hawaii Island Veterans Day parade. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
