Additional federally-derived funds in the amount of$623 is being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division to be used to improve the County's response and victim services involving crimes against women. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police Sexual Assault Nurse Coordinator account, bringing the total appropriation to $55,623. The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the October 17, 2018 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
