RESOLUTION NO. 72-3 IS
STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A HAWAII
KINGDOM COAT OF ARMS BRONZE PLAQUE FOR THE OFFICE
OF THE MAYOR
WHEREAS, Mr. Ed Vasquez is donating a Hawaii Kingdom Coat of Arms
bronze plaque valued at $4,000 to be displayed in the Hilo Mayor's office; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations
of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in
real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County
Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property
which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may
be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Mayor recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`l
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the
Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent Mr. Ed Vasquez, 68-1754 Melia Street, C-120, Waikoloa, Hawaii
96738.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Finance
Department.
