Dear C'ouncilmember Yagong:
STIBIECT: BILL 84 HALEKII STREET - PROPOSED NO PARKING ZUNE
South Kona, Hawaii
As a business property owner along Halekii Street and as a member of the Central Kona Center
Owners Association, we arc opposed to the subject Bill 84 to eliminate parking along Halekii
Street. Eliminating on-street parking would have a negative impact on businesses fronting
Halekii Street.
However, in consideration of safety at the Mamalahoa Highway/Halekii Street intersection, we
would be in agreement to limit the proposal to eliminate parking only along that section of
Halekii Street between Mamalahoa Highway and the entrance to the Kcalakekua Post Office
Building on the south side and the entrance to the Kona Adult Day Center on the north side, or
as required. We would also support eliminating parking along other sections of Halekii Street
should there be other safety issues, which aye are currently unaware of.
