Dear Members of the Hawaii County Council,
We encourage your support of Bill 192 to facilitate the movement of the Animal Control Contract
currently administered by Hawaii Police Department to the Department of Environmental
Management.
We believe this will provide a more comprehensive oversight of the animal control services on the
island. This function will include animal population management (spay and neuter of owned cats
and dogs and feral cats). As we have been personally involved in supporting the activities of island
nonprofit organizations involved in humane methods of animal population control since 2007,
passage of the Bill 192 is understood by us as well as its implications for the island. Please SUPPORT
Bill 192.
