Aloha,
I am writing in support of Resolution 727-18, regarding the humane treatment of animals in
Hawaii County, and in support of Bill 192,which would allow for much more effective
population control of our feral and abandoned animals. Hawaii animal shelters have a much
higher euthanasia rate than the national average, and these steps to rectify that are long
overdue. We have a unique environment, and thus need additional resources so that we can
protect our native flora and fauna while not engaging in unnecessary animal cruelty.
