HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0739.326 2016-2018 PIPs bill 108 From: Lynn Langenstein To: Council Testimony Subject: Bill 108 Date: Friday,October 12,2018 1:50:09 PM Aloha County Council, I understand that Bill 108 as relating to vacation rentals is going to be heard on Tuesday,Oct. 16 in Kona.I am working and unable to attend.However,this bill does affect my family N if it passes.I would like it to be voted against. =' p GC Our family owns a vacation home which was purchased for the eventuality r, that my husband and I would not be able to live in our home in our old m. --C=j age due to the stairs and steepness of land.Our daughter attempted to O move back also but was challenged with the current job market here. c-)' Therefore,we own this house as an emergency location should we need a home with no stairs.Vacation rental in the interim seemed best since long term rental would require a 45 day notice. p —We currently are breaking even financially so any new fees would be a challenge for us. - We are very adamant with our renters regarding quiet times and everyone has been respectful especially since we require that in advance.
