Re: Agreement with the State Department of Hawaiian Home Lands
Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement with the State Department of
Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL). This agreement is for DHHL to provide a share of the
costs of the County's installation of speed humps along the entire length of Pakele Lane
in Keaukaha which is held by DHHL.

A. REQUEST:
Add a Resolution allowing the County of Hawai'i to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)with the
Department of Hawaiian Homes (DHHL). The MOA is for establishing a cost share agreement to install
speed humps on Pakele Lane in Keaukaha, Hilo.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Resolution aims to allow the County of Hawaii to enter into a cost share agreement (MOA) with the
DHHL for the intallation of sheep humps along the entire length of Pakele Lane in Keaukaha, Hilo. The
project will provide a safer driving and pedestrian environment for the community.
The County will provide the necessary labor and equipment and the DHHL will provide the necessary
funding for the delivery of the raw materials for the Project.
