My name is Eric S. Tanouye and I am the President for the Hawaii Floriculture
and Nursery Association. HFNA is a statewide umbrella organization with
approximately 300 members. Our membership is made up with breeders, hybridizers,
propagators, growers, shippers, wholesalers, retailers, educators, and the allied industry,
which supports our efforts in agriculture.
The Hawaii Floriculture and Nursery Association (HFNA) strongly SUPPORTS
Resolution 728 18.
This Resolution will help our members who have been negatively affected by the recent
natural disasters and give them an opportunity to start over.
The industry appreciates the efforts that Hawaii's congressional team has put forth in
helping in the recovery from the recent disasters and we would like to thank Senator
Mazie Hirono, Senator Brian Schatz, Representative Tulsi Gabbard and Representative
Colleen Hanabusa for the assistance programs that Hawaii received. We hope that this
cap lift will continue on those efforts and help to provide the support that is needed for
farmers and ranchers to continue to work in agriculture.
